Coquette Cyclops Desk Buddy Crochet Pattern

Materials

  • Yarn

    • Big Twist Posh Yarn - any color of your choice < 1 skein

    • Worsted Weight Yarn - any color of your choice ~ 12” scrap piece

  • 5.5mm crochet hook

  • 20mm safety eyes

  • stitch marker

  • yarn needle

  • scissors

Body

Round 1: mr 6 (6)

Round 2: inc x6 (12)

Round 3: (sc, inc) x6 (18)

Round 4: sc, inc, (sc 2, inc) x5, sc (24)

Round 5: (sc 3, inc) x6 (30)

Round 6-8: sc around (30) 3 ROUNDS

Round 9: (sc 3, dec) x6 (24)

Round 10: sc, dec, (sc 2, dec) x5, sc (18)

Round 11: (sc, dec) x6 (12)

Pause here and add 20mm safety eye between rounds 6-7.

Round 12: dec x6 (6)

Stuff a little bit more, and FO. Follow the steps below to add the eye details.

Adding The Eye Details

Step 1: Use the same yarn in the same color as the body for the eye details. Attach the yarn to a yarn needle, and insert your needle anywhere into the body. Then, bring your needle out at the edge of the safety eye between rnds 6-7.

Step 2: Insert your needle back in-between rnds 6-7 on the OTHER edge of the safety eye.

Step 3: Bring your needle back out of the body wherever may be convenient for you.

Step 4: Make 3 layers of these eyes details, or however many layers to get your desired thickness! Next, bring both your yarn tails out of the same stitch.

Step 5: Secure your ends and tuck them into the body. Move onto crocheting the ears.

Ears

Step 1: Leaving a long tail, ch 4.

Step 2: Slst into the 1st ch.

Step 4: Slst back into the 1st ch.

Step 5: Ch 3.

Step 6: Slst back into the 1st ch. FO, leaving a long tail.

Step 7: Make two by repeating steps 1-6.

Step 8: Sew the ears onto the body about 5 stitches away from the eye, over top of rounds 6 and 7.

Step 9: Make sure to sew both ears on and move onto the legs!

Legs

Leaving a long tail, ch 12, and FO, leaving another long tail. Move onto crocheting the feet.

Feet

Round 1: mr 4 (4)

Round 2: 3sc-inc x4 (12)

Round 3: BLO: sc around (12)

Round 4: sc around (12)

Round 5: dec x6 (6)

No need to stuff. FO, leaving a long tail and close off your piece. Make two feet, and then sew and secure a leg onto each foot, using the yarn tails from the legs. The legs should be in the back-center of each foot.

Next, sew the legs onto the the body parallel to the ears, between rounds 10-11. Move onto the next step!

Tie The Bows!

Step 1: Use a 6” scrap piece of worsted weight yarn in the color of your choice. Wrap it around the ear and make a tight, secure knot.

Step 2: Tie a bow.

Step 3: Trim the tails of the bow so that they’re your preferred length.

Step 4: Repeat steps 1-3 for the other ear!
